It's crazy, for though I have not read a lot of horror books, I do love a lot of horror shows. Goosebumps, Are you afraid of the dark, Tales from the crypt, Halloween franchise, Evil Dead franchise, Train to Busan, I am a Hero, and much more. I guess in a way, I have always been sort of attracted to it and occasionally when I read horror from the lovely community here, I come to appreciate it even more.

My friend Tim introduced me to Tales from the Crypt, and we would mimic that Cryptkeeper laugh during the opening credits... or any time we wanted to invoke that spooky feeling, especially ironically!
TFTC was amazing, along the lines of Amazing Stories, Twilight Zone, Creepshow... all great anthologies that had their macabre runs during the 80s.

YES 😂 it’s VERY much a thing. It’s a huge part of our culture. We love all things ESPOOKY. 🧟♂️
The Haunting (1963) and The Shining (1980). Nothing has ever topped these for me.

Love this memory! I have a serious soft spot for horror anthologies because of all these great shows. They just...warm my heart.
Same! It also invokes all those old horror magazines from the 50s and 60s, which are just delightful.
