🪦 My first serialized story that I think would suit the taste of MM folks.

In the story we dive into a mind of an ordinary guy plagued with haunting nightmares... the story begins right as he wakes up from one of them and he finds out, there are photos in his phone that he didn't take .

💀/The barefoot man ran across the courtyard, slipping and falling on the icy cobble-stones, until the beasts had driven him into a corner. He faced the hounds, letting out an inhuman cry. The sharp teeth sunk into his flesh and ripped it apart, until a whining clump of bloody flesh was all that was left of him. The Queen stood in the watchtower, observing the spectacle of the dogs fighting over the juiciest bits. She didn’t leave until the satisfied hounds laid on the ice, gnawing on the bones./

💀 Lamentations From Carcosa

In her journal, the librarian described visions of black stars rising over the ruins of an ancient city, dreams of strange glyphs painted in blood, and the torments of terrifying, involuntary metamorphosis.

Excellent summary of the week's events. I'm plugged into all this stuff in real time, but it's great to see a summary all in one place. This community is lively (ironically!).

A little late to the party! I'm sharing my explanation of "serial anthology" in an article tomorrow. I've been playing with a blending of long form world building and a short story collection in my fictional town of Marredbury, a town of horrors. It's been fun! Episode 6 comes out at the end of the month.

Oh, and I would greatly appreciate any feedback if someone has a thought while reading. This idea of a serial anthology is new to me. I can use all the feedback I can get! Haha

👻 Hello, fans of the frightful. I read a note about the Dungeons and Dragons Monster Manual that inspired me to rewatch a DnD documentary about the artists from DnD, and to pick up my Monster Manual to get some ideas for my stories - that is what you get with Macabre Monday!

This week, in the latest entry to my archive of articles about Gaslamp Horror, I wrote about addiction and moral transgression in Victorian horror literature 🛋

🪦 Published Episode 3 today of Bludgeoner, my eighties slasher serial. It's about a bunch of teenagers going out drinking on the lake to celebrate the last day of high school, and, well...

💀 "The man’s bare forearms were even more heavily muscled than those of Tom’s father. He looked nothing like a church sexton, not that Tom had any idea what a church sexton might look like. But who else would be living in a cabin behind a church if not the resident gravedigger? A thick beard glowered over his mouth. He looked like a booming pantomime woodcutter Tom had seen as a child, bounding across the stage, axe in hand, to free Little Red Riding Hood from the belly of the Big Bad Wolf..."

OVER BY CHRISTMAS is a Weird winter's tale of lost time, lost hearts, and long teeth...

I'm a freelance writer who spends most of their time writing stuff set in the worlds of company IPs (Warhammer, Star Wars, Judge Dredd), but this one's all mine, published here for first time anywhere! (30-minute read)
