The phrase, “The Devil walks on Monday” appears in many European oral folk traditions. Monday is not merely the start of the week—it is a day adrift, unguarded, when the devil walks. Unlike solstices or sacred feasts where spiritual veils lift with purpose, Monday thins the barrier in aimless, corrosive ways. The devil does not announce himself with brimstone or temptation; he drifts, unseen, sowing doubt in the cracks of intention. It is said that animals born on Mondays are never quite right. Journeys begun on Mondays risk being directionless or cursed.. Marriages on a Monday risk poor fertility or betrayal. Business deals or contracts signed on Mondays are said to rot from the root.
This May, on the first Monday of the month, look around today. Anything seem off to you? Feels a little unsettled doesn’t it? What’s that all about? Try and observe the unobservable and take some notes. Not exactly a prompt, it’s more field research. Report back, we’re dyin’ to know.
This week’s digest:
Thinking about reading this at my morning meeting today. You know, something uplifting for the team.
Field reports! Page from the Book of Jon T. Are we being recruited?
