Good Afternoons and First Quarter Moons,
Hiya folks, Ma Cobb here. Funny it’s happened again—
and I were just sittin’ here on the lawn enjoyin’ a cuppa strange brew, when some prehistoric Roc bird came down and yanked him away by the scapulae. Have a good flight, I yelled to him as the giant thing flapped away with his legs kickin like he was doing a cha cha twist. Nice, he left his notes here at least. I’ll do my best cyclopian impression for ya in his absence.Looks like y’all had some fun last week findin’ old story prompts and lost artifacts from your wild imaginations. Anyone up for writing a little flash fiction from these odd babies?:
"The bear ate the sun."
"A cool glass of stale pink"
"Just for Ohio"
"Loulan (extinct city)"
"Breath from beachball is old"
"Inside the manhole…music coming out…"
“The air is full of birds.”
“A sticky heartbeat.”
“Be careful when you go to town. The Strangle Man is creeping ‘round.”
“Bud and Dolly are shoplifters. They have lightbulbs in their pants.”
Credit to all the excavators and archeologists - you know who you are—and if anyone was missed or wants to add more, please do you in the comments.
This week, like every week, there is really so much good fiction and dark discourse to consume. I know I am still chewin on last weeks vile vittles, so I hope your appetite is voracious and your hunger haunting to check out this wee smattering of Monday missives for your gruesome pleasures. See the digest below. Plenty of new and old items on the menu.
And be sure to follow and subscribe to everyone and check out all the great work in the community. And hopefully Jonny will return one day in one piece.
